Kids Care Coordinator
I was born and raised in Houston, Texas. Throughout my childhood, I was not aware of who God was, nor of my desperate need of His saving grace in my life. In high school, I was invited to a church camp by a dear friend. That is where I was powerfully moved by Jesus’ ability to rescue me from the darkness and brokenness of my life, and where He saved me.
I graduated from the University of Texas in 2002, and moved to Dallas to pursue a career in finance. However, I quickly figured out that my passion was for working with children, so I began teaching middle school, and did so for 14 years. My husband, Tim, and I were married in 2007. We started attending The Village Church in 2008. This is where I truly began to understand who God was, and started to study and understand His word. A deep desire to pursue Him, and pursue sanctification developed within me. I grew to understand the importance of belonging to a local church, being fully known, and having gospel centered community around me – which is what I realized that I had been missing since I had become a believer. The people of The Village and now Citizens have been essential not only in my continued growth as a believer, but as crucial instruments of healing in my life.
Tim and I have 2 precious children, Carter and Emmerson. As a family we have had the privilege of calling Citizens home since its inception! It is truly a joy and honor to serve the body as Kids Care Coordinator.
My hope for Citizens is that it would continue to be a body of believers marked by honesty, openness, a deep love for and enjoyment of God, a desire to serve all people, an eagerness to learn more about who God is, a serious pursuit of sanctification and a true, authentic love for one another.
