About Madison

I was raised in a Christian household outside Houston, Texas, where my parents faithfully pursued Christ with those around them. When I reflect on my childhood, it is filled with small groups, youth, and college students coming in and out of my home to be discipled, and similar discipleship being extended to my siblings and me. Knowing the cost of my sin and that Jesus was the one to gladly pay it for me, I put my trust in Him at a young age. Through trial and time, I began to strive for acceptance through hard work and performance. I thought if I was the best at what I was doing and took on more, I would be more acceptable both to Christ and those around me. I just wanted to make someone proud. I didn’t understand the full capacity of what it looked like to have a secure identity in Christ. God graciously reminded me over again that my relationship with Him required no earning; He was and is proud to call me His own.

After high school, I attended Texas A&M University to pursue an Animal and Equine Science degree. The Lord gifted me with an incredible community of believers who encouraged and helped me continue to grow in my relationship with Jesus. I graduated from A&M and married my high school sweetheart and best friend, Davis. We moved to Dallas that summer and, in the Spring of 2022, found Citizens Church to call home. We are unbelievably grateful to be a part of the ministry that is happening here at Citizens Church!

My Hope for Citizens Church

My hope for Citizens Church is that we would be an abiding people on a mission to make our workplaces, homes, community, or wherever our feet may land, look more like heaven. I pray that in unity and humility, we would encourage one another to pursue Christ, make disciples, and love well for the glory of God.
